Why an Independent Agency
One agency. Every carrier worth quoting.
Demo Agency is not tied to a single insurer. We shop your coverage across the carriers we represent, explain the trade-offs, and stay in your corner after the policy is issued.

Frequently Asked
Questions policyholders always ask.
What information do I need to get a quote?
Less than you might think: your address, some basics about what you want to insure (your home, vehicles, or business), and — if you have one — a copy of your current declarations page. The dec page lets us compare your existing coverage line by line so nothing gets missed. Start a quote online or call our office and we will walk you through it.
Will getting a quote affect my credit score?
No. Insurance quotes use what is called a "soft inquiry," which does not affect your credit score no matter how many quotes you get. Shopping your insurance is free, and there is no obligation — reach out any time you would like a second opinion on your coverage.
What is the difference between an independent agent and a captive agent?
A captive agent represents one insurance company and can only offer that company's products. An independent agent represents multiple carriers and shops among them on your behalf — so when your situation or the market changes, your agent can move you to a better fit without you starting over. Ask us how we shop coverage for our clients.
What factors affect my premium?
Premiums reflect how carriers measure risk: where you live, the age and condition of your home, your driving record, claims history, coverage limits, deductibles, and even your roof type or credit-based insurance score in many states. Some factors you cannot control — but several you can, and bundling policies or adjusting deductibles often makes a real difference. A quick coverage review with our team is the best way to find out what applies to you.
How much liability coverage do I need?
Enough to protect what you have built — your home equity, savings, and future earnings can all be exposed in a serious accident or lawsuit. Many households benefit from an umbrella policy that adds an extra layer of liability protection above home and auto limits, often for a modest premium. Coverage needs are personal, so let's talk through yours together.
What does an umbrella policy cover?
An umbrella policy provides additional liability protection — typically $1 million or more — that sits on top of your home and auto policies. It can respond when a covered claim exceeds those underlying limits, and it may cover some claims your base policies do not, subject to policy terms. If you have assets to protect, ask us whether an umbrella belongs in your program.
How do I file a claim?
Claims are filed directly with your insurance carrier, and most carriers offer 24/7 claims hotlines — see our Claims page for phone numbers and links. If you are ever unsure which carrier holds your policy, or you would like guidance before filing, call our office first. We are happy to help you decide whether and how to file.
What is a deductible and how should I choose one?
Your deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket before insurance pays on a covered claim. A higher deductible usually lowers your premium but means more out of pocket when something happens. The right choice depends on your savings and comfort with risk — we can show you the premium difference at each level so you can decide with real numbers.
Does my homeowners policy cover floods or earthquakes?
Standard homeowners policies exclude flood and earthquake damage — separate policies or endorsements cover those risks. It does not take living near water to have a flood claim; heavy rain and drainage failures cause losses everywhere. Ask us to check whether your home has a gap worth closing.
How often should I review my coverage?
At least once a year, and any time life changes — a renovation, a new driver, a new business, a big purchase. Coverage that fit you three years ago may not fit you today. We offer annual reviews as part of our service, so schedule one with our team; it usually takes less than 30 minutes.
